Sea freight from Finland (export)
We export containers and LCL cargo from Finland to every country the carriers serve, except Russia and Belarus. Regular destinations include Brazil, India, Turkey, the UAE, the USA, Japan and South Korea. Containers from Finland usually travel on a feeder vessel to a large North European port and continue on an ocean vessel. We confirm the route and transit time in every quote.
The full export process, documents and ports of departure are on the sea freight from Finland page.
Sea freight to Finland (import)
For imports, we collect the goods from your supplier, handle export clearance at origin through our partners, clear the shipment through Finnish customs and deliver it. Our most common import lane is sea freight from China to Finland. Customs is covered on customs clearance in Finland.
Ports
Containers for the Helsinki region usually move through Vuosaari Harbour, where our team works on site every working day. Cargo for south-east Finland can move through HaminaKotka and cargo for the west coast through Rauma. We handle sea freight through every cargo port in Finland. We choose the port based on the shipping or delivery address and the sailings available.
Sea freight combined with rail or air
- Sea-air: faster than sea freight alone and cheaper than air freight alone.
- Sea and rail: the container continues from the port inland by rail.
- Rail freight from China is its own option between sea and air: see rail freight from China to Finland.

How is sea freight priced?
FCL is priced per container: 20 ft (about 33 m³), 40 ft (about 67 m³) or 40 ft high cube (about 76 m³). LCL is priced per revenue tonne (W/M), which is each cubic metre or each 1,000 kg, whichever is greater. Terminal charges, fuel and peak-season surcharges, customs clearance and delivery are added. Duty and VAT are passed on at cost. Ocean rates change weekly, so we quote each shipment in writing. Cost elements, container sizes and demurrage are explained on sea freight rates, and you can work out LCL revenue tonnes with the chargeable weight calculator.
