How do you keep the cold chain?
- Goods are pre-cooled and packed in insulated, leak-proof boxes, with gel packs or ice where the airline allows it; dry ice is declared as a dangerous good
- We agree the handover time so the goods go into the airline’s cool room without waiting
- We choose direct or short-connection flights and track the shipment until delivery
Which certificates are needed when exporting from Finland?
- Fish, seafood and other animal products to countries outside the EU: an export health certificate according to the destination country’s requirements, issued by the Finnish Food Authority (Ruokavirasto) or an official veterinarian
- Berries, plants and flowers to countries outside the EU: a phytosanitary certificate from Ruokavirasto, if the destination requires one
- Commercial invoice, packing list and export declaration
Apply for certificates in good time; requirements vary by destination country.
Importing perishables into Finland
Animal products from outside the EU must enter through a border control post with prior notification in the EU’s TRACES system; plants and flowers need a phytosanitary certificate. Helsinki Airport has a border control post. We arrange the customs declaration and coordinate the inspection.
