Which temperature ranges can you ship?
We handle all common ranges, including +2…+8 °C, +15…+25 °C and frozen shipments:
- +2…+8 °C: vaccines, biologics and many injectables
- +15…+25 °C: many tablets and other medicines stored at room temperature
- Frozen, e.g. −20 °C or on dry ice: some samples and products; dry ice is a dangerous good in air transport and must be declared
The range comes from the product’s storage instructions; we follow the shipper’s written instructions.
Passive or active packaging?
- Passive: insulated boxes or pallet shippers with gel packs or phase change material, qualified by the packaging maker for a set duration. Suits most parcels and small pallets.
- Active: containers with their own cooling and heating, leased from specialist providers. Suits larger or longer shipments; the airline and route must accept the container type.
Temperature data loggers show the conditions during the trip.
What documents and information are needed?
- Commercial invoice and packing list
- Temperature range and handling instructions, which are shown on the air waybill and the boxes
- Packaging qualification duration, so we can choose a routing that fits
- For imports into Finland: the importer’s EORI number and the authorisations required by the Finnish Medicines Agency Fimea for the product; the importer is responsible for them
