Whose data we process

• People who send us a quote request or contact us by email, phone or WhatsApp.
• Contact persons of our customers, suppliers and partners.
• Senders, recipients and contact persons named in shipment and customs documents.
• Visitors to this website, to the extent described under “Website and cookies”.

What data we process

• Contact details: name, company, position, email address, phone number.
• Shipment details: addresses, goods description, weights, dimensions, transport documents such as the air waybill (AWB) or bill of lading.
• Customs and invoicing details: company identifiers, EORI number, VAT number, invoices and payment information.
• Messages and correspondence with us.

We do not ask for sensitive personal data. Please do not send such data in a quote request.

Purposes and legal basis

• Answering quote requests and enquiries: steps taken at your request before entering into a contract (GDPR art. 6(1)(b)).
• Arranging shipments, warehousing, customs clearance and invoicing: performance of a contract (art. 6(1)(b)).
• Bookkeeping, customs and tax obligations: legal obligation (art. 6(1)(c)).
• Managing the customer relationship with company contact persons, and the security of our website: our legitimate interest (art. 6(1)(f)).

Where the data comes from

From you, from the company you represent, from the sender or recipient of a shipment, and from carriers and authorities in connection with the shipment.

Who receives the data

We disclose data only to the extent needed to carry out the shipment: airlines, shipping lines, road and rail carriers, warehouses, our partners at origin and destination, insurers when you order cargo insurance, and customs and other authorities.

We also use service providers who process data on our behalf: website hosting and spam protection (Cloudflare), email and email delivery services, and accounting services. WhatsApp (Meta) processes your messages if you choose to contact us that way.

Transfers outside the EU and EEA

When a shipment goes to or comes from a country outside the EU or EEA, we pass the necessary data to carriers, partners and authorities in that country, because the transfer is needed to perform the contract (GDPR art. 49(1)(b)). Service providers outside the EU and EEA are used only with appropriate safeguards, such as the European Commission’s standard contractual clauses or the EU–US Data Privacy Framework.

How long we keep the data

• Quote requests that do not lead to an order: deleted within 24 months.
• Shipment, customs and accounting records: as long as the Accounting Act and customs rules require, generally at least six years from the end of the year of the shipment.
• Customer contact persons: for as long as the customer relationship is active and for a reasonable time after it ends.

How we protect the data

Access to personal data is limited to employees and partners who need it in their work. Our systems are protected with user accounts, passwords and encrypted connections (HTTPS).

Automated decisions

We do not make decisions based solely on automated processing and do not use personal data for profiling.

Your rights

You have the right to:

• access your personal data;
• have inaccurate data corrected;
• have your data erased, where the law allows;
• restrict or object to processing;
• receive your data in a machine-readable format and transfer it (data portability);
• withdraw your consent, where processing is based on consent.

Send your request to log@b-log.fi. We reply within one month. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the Data Protection Ombudsman of Finland (tietosuoja.fi).

Website and cookies

This website does not use analytics, advertising or tracking cookies, and we do not show third-party advertising.

• Browser storage set by our site. Two small settings are stored in your browser’s local storage, not in cookies: bl-theme (your choice of light or dark theme) and bl-cookies (that you have closed the cookie notice). They are not sent to us and you can clear them in your browser settings.
• Hosting and security. The site is hosted by Cloudflare. To deliver pages and protect the site against attacks, Cloudflare processes technical data such as IP addresses and may set strictly necessary security cookies (for example __cf_bm). These are needed for the site to work and do not require consent.
• Spam protection. The quote form uses Cloudflare Turnstile to tell people from bots. When you open the form, Turnstile checks technical signals from your browser, such as IP address and browser details, without tracking you across sites. The legal basis is our legitimate interest in keeping the form free of spam (GDPR art. 6(1)(f)).
• Fonts. The fonts are served from our own website, so no data is sent to font providers.

If we start using analytics or other non-essential cookies, we will ask for your consent before setting them.
