Helsinki Airport winter season 2026–2027 brings more long-haul connections

The winter season starting 25 October adds 31 new routes from Finavia airports, including daily Emirates and Qatar Airways flights from Helsinki.

The international winter season at Finavia airports runs from 25 October 2026 to 27 March 2027. Finavia reports 31 new routes compared with last winter and 163 international scheduled connections to 103 airports.

For long-haul traffic from Helsinki, the key changes are:

  • Emirates started a daily, year-round Helsinki–Dubai route on 1 October, flown with an Airbus A350.
  • Qatar Airways flies daily between Helsinki and Doha throughout the winter.
  • Finnair starts flights to Melbourne on 24 October.

What this means for shippers

Passenger wide-body aircraft also carry cargo in the hold. More daily long-haul flights from Helsinki mean more options for air freight to and from the Middle East, Asia, Africa and Australia, usually via the airlines’ hubs. We compare routings and capacity for each shipment and send you a quote.
